One of the greatest front men in Australian rock, legendary Midnight Oil singer Peter Garrett is back on the scene with brand-new music, a debut solo album and the support of an awesome band, The Alter Egos.
Join us in a specially configured Amphitheatre for Peter Garrett as you’ve never heard him – performing a raw selection of frank and fearless songs from his new album. Sure, there’ll be his trademark tunes of relentless resistance with, as ever, a steely eye on a better future, but this time around fans can also expect songs of love, songs of home and sweet memories.
A Version of Now is the first-ever solo album from the former politician and lead singer of one of Australia’s most successful bands. In true Peter Garrett style, it is made up of an uncompromisingly direct set of tunes reflecting on his motives, his losses and gains and his unwavering resolve. He performs it live with The Alter Egos – guitarist Martin Rotsey (Midnight Oil), bassist Mark Wilson (Jet) and drummer Peter Luscombe (RockWiz, Paul Kelly) with Rosa Agostino on keyboards and acclaimed Western Australian blues chanteuse Abbe May adding extra guitars.
The show kicks off with a performance from the Territory’s latest singing sensation Gawurra, a Yolngu musician from East Arnhem Land. His stunning debut album Ratja Yaliyali, a collection of songs inspired by traditional songlines sung in Gupapuyngu language, has been commanding attention across the nation. Then Peter Garrett & The Alter Egos take to the stage for an exclusive magical musical evening. With strictly limited tickets available to this one-off event, you’ll need to get in quick to secure yours.
